Dwarves
Those Who Dig Deep
The dwarves might be the shortest of the three corporeal races, but that doesn't make them any less capable than the others. The dwarves were the first to settle, the first to farm, and the first to melt metals, they have shaped gems for the longest, they have carved mountains into great majestic halls and towers, and they have delved the deepest under the earth's surface.Appearance
They are short humanoids, with a strong stocky build, wide shoulders, arms and legs as thick as hams. They have sculpted blocky features, that would appear rough to others, especially when compared to the elegant elves. They dress the way they look, in sturdy leather, rough spun wool, and sown flax. The only dyes they need are simple ones, black, blue, grey, and maybe some brown.Society
They are not exactly a male-dominated society, but they are a culture in which everyone knows their task, and performs it dutifully, and in their view, it is the men's task to lead. The dwarves are universally renowned traders, they are cutthroat businessmen and they are excellent hagglers. Haggling is considered an important part of their cultural identity, however, they are even more renowned for the quality of their products.Religious
They are a religious society, and therefore their faith plays a big part in their life. The strict religious code they follow can be summed up as family values, courage, and honor above all. The male-female union is considered sacred, and things such as adultery and sodomy are taboo. For more information, see: The Sect of AthariĀ They don't care about the religious convictions of the other races though, because, in the opinion of the dwarves, they are all a bunch of weirdos anyway.
