Faeros
Faeros is one of the southernmost continents and informally known as the land of fire. While the Bonelands may be devoid of plant life and Arndeal may be plagued be undeath, Faeros is considered one of the most dangerous continents in the world. What makes the islands and subcontinents of Faeros so dangerous is its volcanic activity. It is said that at least once every hour a volcano somewhere within Faeros erupts. In some areas volcanos can spew lava and ash for years before finally calming down to it's less active state. There are also geysers and what has been termed as hidden volcanos, smaller geyser-like volcanos that are almost indistinguishable from the ground or normal geysers but spew lava instead of water at random intervals. The constant activity has caused bizarre weather such as ash storms and red rain (when drops of still molten lava or recently cooled lava fall like rain. These storms can last for a few minutes to an hour or two.) Much like the artic continents, Faeros also has an unusually high number of active Titans.
Despite the volcanic activity, dangerous weather, and abundance of active Titans there are multiple civilizations that call Faeros home and people flock to the continents every year.
History
Since time immemorial Faeros has drawn followers of Zaros as well as craftsmen from around the known world. At the heart of Faeros lies the famed Forge of the Gods, a forge believed to be the personal forge for the god Zaros. It is said that the forge amplifies the crafting skills of those within turning novices into masters and masters into legends. because of this the civilizations that have called Faeros home over the ages have always waged war with one another for control of the forge with no civilization being able to control it for longer than a few years. It is said that war and grudges run as deep on Faeros as the molten rock beneath it.
Tourism
There are typically only three kinds of people who travel to Faeros. the first are devout followers of Zaros wishing to be closer to his Forge. Though not a requirement, those that worship Zaros frequently pilgrimage to the civilization that controls the forge in hopes of being allowed within its walls. Most of his followers make it a point to journey to Faeros at least once in their lifetime and some even move there. The second is craftsmen seeking knowledge. The allure of the Forge of the Gods has drawn craftsmen from all over the world. It is said that the only the craftsmen of Valonde could rival a Faeros craftsmen. Those seeking apprenticeships or knowledge to surpass their skill level are a common sight. The third type of person that normally travels to Faeros is mercenaries. Due to constant warfare, individuals skilled in combat are constantly sought after and some civilizations throughout known history would even send agents out into the world to hire every sellsword and buy every slave they came across to fill their armies.
