The Frozen North
Found in the most northern region of the Known World lies the region that is better known as the Frozen North, three continents connected by a sea of ice and snow.
Geography
There are four distinct parts of the Frozen North. There are the continents Colleze, Frozzgar, and Artizen, and the Glacial Sea.
Glacial Sea
Being the largest of the sections of the Frozen North, the Glacial Sea is simply that. A massive body of water between the three continents and the wall that is frozen. Parts of the Glacial Sea resemble flat mostly featureless wastes while other parts look more like the dunes of deserts and as though the sea was frozen instantly during a storm. The few dozen islands jutting out from the ice like lonely mountains rising from the earth. This region is plagued by Icequakes from time to time.Colleze
The smallest of the three continents but covered in an immense mountain range. Because of the immense mountains that can block or funnel the wind, there are more than a few valleys where there is no snow or ice and instead, you can find small forests and hot springs. In addition to the mountains that cover the continent, there are numerous caves and tunnel systems carved out naturally or by the numerous Frost Giants that call it home.Frozzgar
The westernmost of the three continents, Frozzgar is a place filled with glaciers, mountains, snow-covered rolling hills, and forests. Combined the entire continent as a sort of peaceful frozen beauty about it. Much like Colleze however, there are numerous caverns, tunnels, and more hidden just beneath the surface caused by earthquakes, monsters, and the Polaris that call the continent home.Artizen
The largest of the three continents and the warmest part of the Frozen North. Divided by three concentric mountain ranges, The northwestern part of the continent is a place of ice and snow where a huge lone forest makes up the only bit of vegetation on that side of the mountains. Though beautiful much like the rest of the Frozen North, just beneath the snow and ice lies the bodies of countless fallen warriors and the remains of a war that has raged on for thousands upon thousands of years. In the southern half of Artizen lies rolling hills of frost-covered grass, numerous forests, and dozens of hot springs, lakes, and rivers. Though covered in snow for 12-13 months of the year, during those 3-4 months of the summer the southern half of Artizen becomes covered in the vibrant green of grass and trees, flowers that bravely survived the winter months bloom and it all feels alive.History
For much longer than recorded history, the Frozen North has been locked in a war between the Polaris, the Frost Giants, the Frostguard, and the Iceborn. The Polaris claim the Frozen North as their rightful territory and seek to conquer it all and perhaps more. The Frost Giants declare the Frozen North to be their birthright and seek to kill any who trespass or says otherwise. The Frostguard see it as their ancestral mission to fight against the dangers of the region on behalf of everything southward and thus they are the vigil between the Frozen North and the rest of the Known World. Last but not least the Iceborn. An enigmatic nation of elementals, constructs, outcasts, undead and others all ruled by an individual calling themself the Emperor of Ice.
