The different nations of the Wraith Globe have each taken a unique and different approach to government, some being for the better, and some for the worse. Here is a full list and description of each of the nations' of The Wraith Globe and their form of government:
Khazan
Khazan is a confederacy or a form of government in which each settlement governs itself, and there is a loose tie between all of the settlements which form Khazan. Each settlement may even have a varying opinion of the whole. This collection of self-governing settlements is led by a collective committee centered in Kragzbarg, The capital of Khazan located directly south of Mount Karar'at. This elected committee is the Conclave of The Honored and supervises all of the settlements, commerce, and international relations of Khazan.
Algos
Algos is a plutocracy, a form of government where money is the absolute key to renown. In Algos, especially in larger cities, money can buy you just about everything. In the many layers of Vuekson, the capital of Algos, an entrance fee is required to enter each layer of the city, and the higher they are, the more renowned you are. The supreme ruler of Algos,
Tarkas Irly, resides in the exact center and highest point in all of
Vuekson, The Capital of Algos. He is the richest person in the Wraith Globe, which is the only reason he is the ruler of this plutocratic nation.
The Order of Wizardry
The Order of Wizardry is an oligarchy in which a group of absolute rulers,
The High Mages. The magic imbued inside the High Mages is so strong and they are so well trained in it, they can actually prolong their life, causing them to have ruled The Order for almost 3,000 years! For most residents of the Order, the High Mages are just rulers that take the wants and desires of the people into account.
Ban-Rock-Buren
Ban-Rock-Buren is an anarchy, where there is no government and each individual must fend for themselves. Though the Orcs are a sentient race in the Wraith Globe, they have never really understood or adopted the idea of a government. Instead, the Orcish peoples of Ban-Rock-Buren have banded together into moderately sized clans.
Ucrua
Ucrua is a Republic, a form of government in which the people elect representatives to represent them. This is the main reason that Falkrunn and technological advancement have been at the forefront of Ucrua's vision and radar: the people have requested it. Each major Ucruan city elects one representative to represent them in council, and smaller cities can band together to elect one representative if they desire. This system does a decent job balancing out how much say each settlement has.
Necrotus
Necrotus is a Autocracy, a form of government where one hereditary ruler holds absolute power. This ruler is Valros Revire, a renowned Tiefling sorcerer. Revire's rule is supported by his strong military mostly based in
Undarin, the Dark Citadel. The Commander of The Necrotian military,
Yargulus Zerleas, resides in Undarin and surprisingly controls most of the city as a sort of dictator. Yargulus has recently been planning a coup to overthrow Valros and take the Necortian throne for himself as an absolute dictator. With his new position, Yargulus would most likely transform Necrotus into a biased citadel of torture and death...
Istren and Astren
Istren and Astren, though they loath each other, both have very similar governments. Both Istren and Astren are Democracies, a form of government where the people directly vote on laws and other matters. In larger nations like Algos and the Order of Wizardry, this government would not work because of massive population size, but Istren's and Astren relatively small populations benefit them in this field.
Corevia
The government of Corevia is mostly unknown. Overall,
Corevia is a very secluded and secretive nation. Very little is known for sure, and few are even invited into the Dragonborn nation. There are many rumors and theories on Corevia's true nature. Some say that one of the great
The Fagnaór are imprisoned on Corevia. Others say that there is a secret portal to the Phase Lands. Yet others say that Tiamat is buried underneath the island of Corevia. No one knows for sure...
Cygnar
Cygnar, like Khazan, is a confederacy, a form of government in which each settlement governs itself, and there is a loose tie between all of the settlements which forms Cygnar. These settlements are mostly small farming communities.
The Three Dwarven Nations of Vhalhaldir
After significant pressure from the Bontir, Ormir, and Rhydarias families, the government of
Vlhaladir finally started to give in to their demands in 454 PG. The country was split in 3, equally divided among the families. The Rivalry of Dwarves had begun... The three Dwarven nations of Vhalhaldir have the same general form of government: a republic. This originated from their Ucruan lineage during the splitting of the main continent; however, these three mining nations also limit the rulers which the people can elect to members of the respective Rhydarias, Bontir, and Ormir families, limiting the people's power.
Rhydarias
Rhydarias is the first of the three great mining nations of afar. It is considered the second richest of the three mining nations. Overall, Rhydarias tries to keep out of the affairs of Bontir and Ormir. This Dwarven nation is surprisingly content with where it's at, and the Rhydarias Family would rather play it safe than take unnecessary political chances.
Bontir
Bontir is the second of the three mining nations of afar and is also the poorest. The Bontir family is actually closely related to the Ormir family, and is, expectedly, very jealous of their great success. Ormir tries to help Bontir, but not too much, as Bontir tends to leech off of them. It is even said that some shadier members of the Bontir family have or are posing as distant members of the Ormir family, and using that position to tear down Ormir for the betterment of Bontir.
Ormir
Ormir is the third of the Dwarven mining nations, and the richest by far, almost 3 times as rich as Rhydarias! Ormir has used its riches for many things, but the most notable use for their wealth is their current attempt and the globalization of the Wraith Globe. Ormir has been trying to interconnect and weave the commerce and resources of each Wraith Globe nation together to make for a better world. However, this attempt at globalization has only met partial success. Nation rivalry such as The Order of Wizardry & Necrotus and Istren & Astren have stopped this globalization from being completely successful, and was therefore mostly abandoned by the Ormir family.
