The Hateful Ash of Ucrua's Echo

Dust of The Abyss

General Info

In the dark and twisted Echo Plane of the Shadowfell, the evil side of the nations of the Wraith Globe is emphasized. Normally, the Dwarven nation of Ucrua is a blooming foundry of technological and scientific advancement, but in the Shadowfell, Ucrua is a smoking wasteland of ash and city waste. Nothing lives here, and the air is filled with a perpetual smoke that chokes the life out of any unsuspecting animal or traveler. However, there is more to these barren lands than meets the eye. The ash that covers the Shadowfell lands of Ucrua, commonly called The Hateful Ash of Ucrua's Echo, is a material that can fuel the hate within a member of the Finite Races. Some say that deep beneath the Shadowfell echo of Ucrua lies the volcanic source of hate among the Finite Races, and the Hateful Ash of Ucrua's Echo acts as a fuel for the power of hate in the Finite Races.

Common Uses

In the Shadowfell, the Hateful Ash of Ucrua's Echo is a commodity and a material used by only the shrewdest of negotiators and saboteurs. Saboteurs commonly use the Hateful Ash to make negotiations or social encounters go awry, causing both parties to instantly hate everyone around them. The Hateful Ash of Ucrua's Echo has started many wars in the Shadowfell, making once-friendly nations suddenly begin to claw at each other's throats.

Acquiring Hateful Ash

Although Hateful Ash is illegal in all nations of the Material Plane except for Necrotus, it is a common specialty material among Shadowfell traders and merchants. Most Shadowfell merchants sell small vials of Hateful Ash for 50 gold pieces each. To harvest Hateful Ash from the Shadowfell, one must travel to barren lands of Ucrua and venture to the island slightly off the coast of the main continent. This island is where one can find the purest form of Hateful Ash that imposes the most potent magical effects.
