The High Cataclysm

The Lords' Hammerblow

"The High Cataclysm was the second-most influential even within the Wraith Globe, behind Artukos creating the Wraith Globe, of course. Sometimes, I like to sit and wonder how our world would have turned out without the Lord's great Hammerblow..."
- Joras Kai, Historian

General Info

History and Effects of the Cataclysm

In 348 Partum Globus, the Lords of the Wraith Globe split the main continent to stop the warring of the Finite Races. This massive event is known as The High Cataclysm or The Lords' Hammerblow, and it truly changed the Wraith Globe forever. For starters, the cataclysm allowed the outer continents to form, shaping the history of the Material Plane and its echoes. The cataclysm also created over ninety-five percent of the Material's Plane current volcanic and tectonic activity. Furthermore, the High Cataclysm also caused the invasion and rise of The Seven Giant Spider Queens. From there, the Giant Spider Queens caused the rise of magic in the world, which is yet another massive effect of the High Cataclysm. Some even believe that the Lords used the last of their power to split the main continent, causing them to recede from the Wraith Globe. Truly, the list of the High Cataclysm's eventual effects goes on and on as history spiraled out from 348 PG.

Localization

The Lords' Hammerblow supposedly originated at Mount Karar'at, but the shockwave of the blow only started affecting the geography and topography of the continent until what is now the main continent's coastline. No one is quite sure of why this is, but many believe that is Viabaas, the Lord of Angels, that dealt this bow to Mount Karar'at with his trusty pike, Daemor. Daemor had been transformed into a multicolored bird to protect the Finite Races from the forces of the Fagnaór, but now it returned to it original form for a short time so that it could be used to shatter the main continent.
