Yemos Trito
When the world was new Father Sky and Mother Earth conceived the first humans. These were named Manus and Yemos, and to them, Father Sky gave the first cow so that they may pay him proper sacrifice. Yemos who was bigger and stronger than Mannus step up to perform the sacrifice, as it was his right, but Mannus being conniving and deceitful, took his dagger and, as his Brother went to slay the sacrifice, he slaw him instead. Father Sky, being the cold and distant God that he was, accepted the sacrifice anyway, and proceeded to tell Mannus how to shape creation, but Mother Earth grew furious at the sight of her slew son, and, as his blood dripped in her womb, she vowed that she would have revenge on her Husband and Mannus. From the body of Yemos the earth was shapen, from his bones came the Mountains, from his eyes the lakes and seas, from his flesh the fertile soil, from the rivulets of his blood the rivers, from his hairs the plants, from his sperm all that lives. From his Heart came the priesthood, from his torso came the Kings, and warriors, and from his legs and genitals came the farmers and men of labour. But of him Mother Earth kept his soul, his heart Blood, for herself, and fed him with the cold hatred of her breast. Thus she waited for Mannus to have progeny of his own, for him to grow old, and for her husband to forget. Then, when Mother Earth decided the time had come, she revolted against the sons and daughters of Mannus. The people of Mannus thus prayed to Sky Father to deliver them, the God thus spoke to them:" in sacrificial blood the world has been created, in sacrificial blood the celestial order has been written, and with sacrificial blood order on the world shall be enshrined again". Thus he ordered them to take the First Cow and to slay to to him and Mother Earth so that she might be appeased. But Mother Earth had other plans, and from her womb she gave birth to her scorn, her son Yemos, reborn in the form of a Great Serpent, and she commanded unto him to steal the Cow intended for her sacrifice. Seeing the Great Beast stealing the sacrifice the people fell in despair, but their progenitor and High Priest, Mannus, knew what to do and gave his son, Trito, weapons to fight the beast. With the blessing of Sky Father Trito successfully slew the Serpent, but before the creature could die he was bitten by its poisonous teeth. After a few steps Trito fell dead to the ground and rose again. As he had been commanded, he returned to his father the high priest, and, with the guidance of Sky Father, he performed the sacrifice. But as the red blood fell to the floor, Trito felt hunger and dark fury. In a moment the old priest was devoured, and so was everyone that attended, and at that the Mother was satisfied: Trito was now her scorn given form, forever poisoned by her hatred, true form of her son reborn. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a son for a son. Now order had been restored. Father was enraged, his priest was dead, his temple had been defiled, but he could do nothing as if this was the price that Mother demanded to placate her fury, this was her rightful due. Thus he absolved Trito of his crime of patricide, but he told him that never again would he have been welcome in his Light, for he had broken the sanctity of his temple, nor would he find home in the cities of men, for he had no place among them anymore. His would be the night of the Mother and his would be her wilds and thus it was that the kindred race begun.
