Nuttige Xantalain planten
Name | Description | Habitat |
---|---|---|
Bog Myrtle | Round green leaves, and with flowering cones that look like berries on them. Used to flavor beer sometimes, but can be crushed, burned, and inhaled to cause psychotropic effects, and to be used as a painkiller. Afterwards, it is known to cause some hard migraine headaches. | Grows best in very wet, acidic, peaty soil from moors, in swamp forests and peat bogs. It prefers solitude. |
Brineweed | A non-magical plant that grows in deserts. Its roots are highly nutritious and contain a lot of water, it's taste, however, is horendous. It is easily identifiable by its reddish-yellow branches. Tough leaves to survive the harsh weather. Beautiful bright flowers with long red stamens when in bloom | Deserts, often near other shrubs and plants |
Bubble Lily | A large white flower encased in a delicate bubble. The nectar of the Bubble Lily is sweet, and known for its healing and rejuvenation properties. However, if the bubble is popped, the flower shrivels and dies, spoiling the nectar. The only way to harvest the nectar is with a long needle capable of piercing the bubble without popping it. However, it is said that there is a rare insect that drinks from the Bubble Lily. | Most often found near water and other flora. Seems to prefer warmer climates. |
Cinderpetals | These bright red and orange flowers can be found in areas affected by great heat. Like deserts but also areas that were recently struck by forest fires. Named after the way they look like tiny flames around its crown. If ground up finely and left in a vial or bottle they will coagulate the water into a thick goo and make the color into a vibrant swirl of red and orange. This goo is strong enough to burn whatever touches it. But the smallest amount diluted with either milk or water, gives it the ability to spice up a meal with its taste and colour. | Deserts or the ashes of burnt forests. |
Claymore Mushroom | The Claymore Mushroom is a mushroom that explodes when you step on it. Hard to harvest, but the unexploded meat of the mushroom is unique. They are almost perfectly spherical, usually about 10-15 cm. | Near other mushrooms. Preferably in damp, dark areas like caves. |
Fire moss | Found only underground, this dull red moss is extremely long burning and can be wrapped around a stick and used as a torch for approximately three hours. | Damp and dark areas like swamps and caves. |
Phantom Flower / Mirage Flower | A large and delicate purple and deepblue flower, which seems almost seem-through. This flower is able to project dozens of ghostly copies of itself in order to fool creatures that wish to harm the plant. It is a useful ingredient in many potions, but it's unique ability makes it frustrating to harvest. It has a fresh but slightly sour taste. | Jungles, often near feytouched areas. |
Rose-of-dawn | The petals of this rose are colored like a sunrise, and can be used to give food a spicy flavor, on the level of a ghost pepper. Beware the sharp thorns on its stem! | Warm and humid areas. Quite common but rarely used properly. |
Snowberry | Very fragile and delicate little flowers: colored the faintest blue, to the point of almost being white. The plant itself has bright red but poisonous little berries. Snowberry bushes only bloom before a blizzard. They are very rare and wanted for their unique ability to freeze whatever it’s used in. Great for a flowery, sweet ice-cream in hot climates. But also useful in a pinch when a wounded creature needs cooling. | Cold areas such as tundra's and mountains. |
Spark Needle | A kind of weed that causes minor prickling and rashes. When grilled the flesh can be eaten, causing minor hallucinations and a tingly "static electricity" kind of feeling across the skin. Sharp, strong leaves, usually brown but sometimes faintly red at the tips. The tips hurt, but it's the fuzzy hairs covering the flower that cause the irritations. | Quite common in densely grown humid areas |
Sunberry | Found deep in dark forests, sunberries are small, round yellow berries with a faint glow. They taste sweet as honey with a mild sour afterbite. They can be distilled into a golden whisky known as sunshine which sheds light with half the intensity of a torch indefinitely. It is very expensive and tends to be served in crystal goblets that can catch and refrect the light into magnificent displays. | Deep inside forests and jungles, where the sun rarely reaches the ground. |
Zephyr Bloom | A flower commonly found in the foothills of mountains. The light blue petals grow in the shape of a tornado. If the petals are used to make a tea, the imbiber feels like they are flying for about an hour. | Commonly found at the foothills of mountains. |
