Golden Falcon Antiquities
A varied group of scholars, entrepreneurs, artificers, and loremasters travelling the land in search of lore and enlightenment, Golden Falcon Antiquities are the ONLY organised society to be studiously exploring the ruins of the ancient Nurians. People from all walks of life join their ranks, be they criminal or historian. Strom Valus was one of the few to make the connection between the Shabura and the uncovering of Nurians long thought buried beneath the sands. He initialised the movement for organisation and was later replaced as the ruling body, something Valus was all too happy with; his first love was always the uncovering of secrets.
Some members of GFA are sincere to their profession, but that sincerity comes second to the multitudes of profit at stake. Golden Falcon Antiquities is also the main employer of those who lack the education or skill set to get steady work. These workers, or scavvers as they have become colloquially known, are paid per artefact that they bring back from a ruin, usually a pittance. Naturally, these expeditions have a high mortality rate and the vast majority never return. Some form groups as they feel they are more likely to bring back and spend their coin if they are part of a multitude, however, the politics surrounding criminals and money-hungry individuals are often far more deadly than any inconspicuous trap.
Whenever a new GFA expedition centre is set up, usually the only permanent structure, a bunch more temporary buildings spring up around it as people flock to the location as it means there will be ample work, for GFA only build at sites where several dig sites surface. This leads to shanty pop-up towns that spring up and are dismantled when the plunder is obtained.
