The Gods Imprison Entropy

In the time before anyone measured it, in one of the infinite realities of observable dimensions, on the fur-thest edge of the material plane, one of the billions of sparks of creation found itself a suitable place to grow. Eons later the inhabitants grew to call this world “The-as” but I am getting ahead of myself.   A war between Chaos and Order broke out, a conflict that has reigned eternal but always at a stalemate, a being more powerful than any other in memory, chose a side. The primordial Entropy, the Everlasting Hunger emerged. Birthed from the Void, a space where the conflict had ravaged to the point of implosion, Entropy systematically began devouring the universe, coming in to conflict with the Primordial of Order, Honour. It was during this clash that Entropy shattered Honour into a multitude of fragments, some, merely an aspect of Honour made manifest, others, corrupted by the contact with Entropy, becomming twisted and parasitic.   These aspects then fled from Entropy's eternal hunger and found themselves on Theas, manifesting themselves as minor miracles to the native races, they were then treated with reverance and eventually given form by the worship of those that found them. They became the Gods that are known and worshipped in all four corners, today. Upon being gifted with Godhood by their mortal worshippers, these new dieties banded together to form the Pantheon, at least those that remained as aspects of Honour and didn't become twisted and corrupted by Entropy. The Pantheon saw, with new eyes what Entropy was doing to the cosmos, being a Primordial force in the universe, Entropy could never be destroyed, much like how Honour was only fragmented. The Pantheon deemed it necessary to attempt to imprison the Eternal Hunger, placing him at the centre of a planet, setting in place magical ley-lines that held the bars of the prison strong.   Entropy has broken out of his prison multiple times, corrupted those native to the planet he is imprisoned in, a process that takes millenia but always inevitable, and then uses these corrupted lifeforms to weaken the Pantheon's hold upon the planet, afterall, the Gods have no power if there are none left to worship them. Once the Pantheon's magic upon the planet weakens enough, entropy breaks free, consuming all that remains and the cycle begins anew. With more planets lost with every cycle, the Pantheon set in place a trap for Entropy, at the heart of Theas, the birthplace and safe haven of the Gods. Their hold over this planet being strong enough to hopefully contain Entropy for eternity.   Knowledge was given to the Elvhenan, both danger of what lay behind the Northern mountains as well as how to control and utilize these magical energies that they reveled in, by tapping into the weak flow of extra planar energy that permeated the planet, otherwise known as Ley Lines today. Powerful enchantments were woven into the land itself, rivers, mountains and forests became focal points of the grandest prison in all creation.   Dwarves were given warnings not to dig too deep which they, as is their Dwarven way, promptly ignored. So, monstrous entities and races with blackened hearts, were placed deep underground to safeguard against the industrious race and any unwitting aid they would grant to releasing Entropy. Humans, possessing no real influence or import had their worth as worshippers so they became pets and puppets of many deities catapulting them from their home lands all thought Theas. After making sure that only the complete submission of the entire world would guarantee the darkness it’s freedom, many deities shifted their attentions else-where leaving their subjects to their own devices.     However, millenia have passed since this trap had been sprung and now, finally, the cracks are beginning to show, the prison begins to weaken as Entropy's fettered conciousness begins to seep out of the cracks and has begun contact with the inhabitants.
