Devin Adal, as he is most commonly known, keeps the majority of his past a secret. Where he was trained and who trained him is unknown, but the man has made a name from himself as both a spy and an assassin. For years, Devin has romanced his way into the worlds of numerous targets only to disappear without a trace once his job is finished, leaving ruin in his wake.

Devin has spent an unknown amount of time as a mercenary, frequently moving around after jobs to seek more work and remain under the radar.

While Devin has no problem taking a life according to a contract, he refuses to kill in front of a child or leave a victim where they will be found by a child. Regardless of the fee offered, Devin also does not accept contracts involving the kidnapping or injury of children.

In recent years, Devin's most frequent business contacts have been at Knight Industries. He initially came in contact with Jackson Kennington having been hired by an unidentified person to gather intelligence on the organization. Devin romanced Jack for several weeks before the young CEO realized he was a spy. The operation was shut down and Devin was removed from the premises. 

However, not long after those events, Jack hired Devin to gather information on Claudia Preisner. Devin spent several months in a relationship with the woman acting as an ongoing spy for Sylvian O'Shaun.
