Greenfell Sanctuary

Greenfell Sanctuary is a haven for former Templars - either those who want to quit lyrium and are suffering withdrawal, or those who have lost their minds and bodies to lyrium addiction. It was established in 9:42 Dragon by Cullen Rutherford, commander of The Inquisition and former Knight-Captain of the Templar Order.

History

After recovering from his own addiction to lyrium - due in majority to the intervention of his friends - Cullen established Greenfell Sanctuary as a haven for those like him - former Templars who wished to break the hold lyrium had over them. Following the dissolution of the Templar Order after the War Against The Elder One, he found that there were a great many good men and women, those who had joined the Templar Order out of the same sense of duty and justice he once had, who needed his help, and Greenfell Sanctuary was there to help them.
Cullen formed the sanctuary on the outskirts of Greenfell because of his personal connection with the village - following the uprising at Kinloch Hold during the Fifth Blight, Knight-Commander Greagoir sent Cullen to Greenfell to recover, and the small village was more than happy to welcome him in, helping to heal his mind from Uldred's torture.
