"Enchanters"
[repeat twice] "Enchanters!
The time has come to be alive
From the Circle of Magi, where we will thrive
With our brothers. Enchanters remind
That time will not unwind.
The templar's crooked spine,
Will never straighten into line. What we plea will be
A faithful end decree,
Where a man will not retreat
From the defeat of his fathers. Enchanters!
A time has come for battle lines.
We will cut these knotted ties,
And some may live and some may die. Enchanter, come to me
Enchanter, come to me
Enchanter, come to see
Can you, can you come to see,
As you once were blind
In the light now you can sing?
In our strength we can rely,
And history will not repeat. Enchanter, come to me
Enchanter, come to me
Enchanter, come to see
Can you, can you come to see,
As you once were blind
In the light now you can sing?
In our strength we can rely,
And history will not repeat."
This song arose as the world was flung into chaos when the Circles all across Thedas disbanded from the Chantry. When this happened, almost every mage across Thedas was branded as an apostate and not long after the majority of the Templar Order followed suit by defecting from the Chantry. The now-apostates inspired themselves with this song whose lyricist is unfortunately unknown. In the words of this song carry the anger and frustration many mages have felt for decades. It serves as a reminder of the oppression, cruelty, and injustices that have occurred against those touched by magic by the rest of the world. This song extends further than an anger-filled shout at the Templar Order; it also is directed towards the people of Thedas who have so willingly let themselves be driven by fear into allowing atrocities occur time and time again. Ask any rebel mage, and they'll tell you one thing: "It's time to rise".
