The Tidemother

Calypso the goddess of the seas, watches over souls transitioning from life to death. Those who lack understanding of the natural ebb and flow of life, speak her name with fear. Others praise her upon returning home alive and well from a long voyage across her oceans.
The Tidemother's high priests credit her with the creation of the human race and the continent of Igni.
Legends speak of her five children the gargantuan leviathans each roaming one of The Five Oceans. Furthermore they say that her primordial snake like body once wrapped around the entire planet but she gave up her physical form to create the five continents. With her flesh turned to earth, mountains carved from her scales and her bones crushed into gravel and sand. All to provide a world for her creations to live and die upon.
