Civilization and Culture

History

The Werefolk came as a wave of terror in the Circle. They exterminated the children and the gray ones, and killed so many before they were corralled. The plan was to destroy them all but the dwarves had other designs for them. They took them to Seersglade, and according to the Werefolk they tortured them. But the dwarves claim to have been looking for a cure, and to their credit they found it. The Werefolk now had full control of their transformations, but that wasn't going to excuse the blood they spilled before. Many in circle despise them to this day and they're frequently discriminated against. So they decided to live away from the cities and took to farming and hunting, and this is now how they make their way in the world.
When a person is turned their transformation is somehow tied to their blood. No one knows how it ties in yet, but it does more of an effect on mixed race people. It's different animals are vying for control, and the less control that person has. This knowledge had an unintended side effect on the turned and unturned alike. People were scared to date outside their race for fear of their being potentially turned. Werefolk were also nervous about the same thing, after time this fear died down. But people who live near werefolk still practice this out of fear.
