The night sky could make for an ocean, dotted with distant stars that peek through the empty space between landmasses. The continents curl around a swirling ball of light, each one flowing into the next: Erit, Alba, and Varen. This is Thera - the world built around a star.
Forged by the gods some 300,000 years ago, the continents bear the imprint of their creators: Erit's sprawling fields and vast mountain ranges; Alba's clustered islands and interconnected lakes; Varen's scorched deserts and volcanic wastes. Each is supported by Thera's star, a conglomerate of cosmic and magical energy as old as the first gods. Without it, nothing could exist - and though it may seem now to shine bright, its magic is finite. For now, though, this energy permeates the land it supports in the form of lyths, ley lines, and ambient magic.
