Abel (Ae-Bel)

Abel , Son of Man

Let the ground be soaked in blood.
Let this blood cry out for vengeance.
Let this vengeance be sevenfold.
— Creed of the Abelar
Abel, claimed by legends to be the very first victim, is a non-native deity of vengeance that was brought into Theras during the first Human crossings of The Bridges. It is said that great chasms swallowed thousands of murderers into the earth as he arrived. It is told that whenever a murder is commited in the name of his brother Cain, the act of revenge equally strengthens Abel; more often than not, the vengeance is is an act of murder, which strengthens Cain, and the cycle continues. Abel is known as a spiteful yet compassionate deity.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Clergy, Temples and Worshipers

The clergy of Abel is unorganized and decentralized by design, with priests acting mostly on their own as they travel the land seeking to deliver vengeance and provide solace. Despite their gruesome acts and rites, Abelar clerics take great care for families whose loved ones were murdered and a genuine interest in the lives of those loved ones, as they believe that for them to truely avenge such acts they must be emotionally invested in them.

Tenets of Faith

Able is not only vengeful, but vindictive when he has been wronged by another; he will take his time returning such disfavor, maneuvering in order to attain the best position from which to enact his retribution. His legendary trysts are well-documented, although it is difficult to conclusively determine whether these tales are tales are truth or nothing more than fantasy.
