Brecherriesen
Brecherriesen are shock units utilized by the Gontal Streitkräfte comprised of Giantkin, most commonly hill giants, ogres, and trolls. They are commanded by unusually large ogre-magi or troll warlords who are able to physically overcome hill giants.

Tactics
Brecherriesen tactics are simple to explain, though hard to execute - overwhelm the enemy. Despite the common misconception of these units being comprised of single-minded brutes, they are quite adept at tactical maneuvers and strategic thinking, with a focus on morale damage and sudden assaults.
Sporadic Deployment
A favored tactic, though not always plausible, which involves sending soldiers in small groups to the general vicinity of the target destination. Over a period of several days, the soldiers will stay in waiting and act as regular members of their species would, not drawing any attention; when enough forces are gathered, the commander will issue an agreed-upon signal, rally the forces to his location within two to three hours, and start the assault. In most cases, the soldiers are not informed of the target location nor of the location of other forces; any forces that fail to rally within this time period are left an obvious trail or a designated second-in-command and will arrive as reinforcements in the midst of battle. Occasionally, soldiers are deployed in a manner that several such waves will join the assault.
