Consul
A Consul is a person who holds a high-ranking position of authority and is responsible for the administration and governance of the republic of Waleapia. This person may be elected or appointed and may have a wide range of responsibilities, including maintaining law and order, resolving disputes, negotiating treaties, and leading military campaigns.
Uusally, a consul may also be a powerful wizard, cleric, or other type of magic user who wields their powers to protect the realm and enforce its laws. They may have a council of advisors, including representatives of different races, classes, or factions, and may be the final authority in all matters of the state.

Duties
A consul is an emergency oppointment, and they serve as the head of the republic for a one-year term; however, they aren't given full control of every aspect of government, but only those aspects relevant to the current crisis. For example, the current consul, Hippolyte Barbet, deals with the refugee crisis, and as such is responsible for legaslative actions, the treasury, and welfare policy, but not for the judicial system or the military.

The consulship is a prestigious position and is considered a stepping stone to other high-ranking positions in the Waleapian government. The office of consul is also seen as a symbol of the Waleapian Republic's commitment to its system of governance and its belief in the rule of law.
