General

Location
Industry Sector, Sublevel 37
Converter Type
Passive, Unit 4
Status
Unit functionality unaffected
On the night of the 11th of Fonacius, during routine inspection of sublevels 31-40, an unknown dwarf operative, later identified as a spy, infiltrated the restricted area housing a Passive Thermolithic Converter (TC-4). The individual went into the converter's intake chamber. The incident resulted in an immediate halt in energy processing and a minor system overload. On-call engineers intervened within minutes to stabilize the system.

Chain of Events

  • 00:25 - Unauthorized Access.
  • Dwarf infiltrates by bypassing security wards and barriers; method is pending investigation. The operative gained entry to the lower engineering levels, where TC-4 is located.

  • 00:47 - Proximity Alert Triggered.
  • Security systems flagged a foreign presence in the converter control area. Security response teams failed to arrive on time.

  • 00:51 - Entry into Converter.
  • The operative, attempting to hide from security personnel, stepped too close to the intake cavity of TC-4 and was sucked into the conversion chamber. At the time, the converter was operating at 72% capacity.

  • 00:55 - Immediate Shutdown.
  • Chief engineer triggered an emergency shutdown to prevent critical damage to the converter. The system failed to initiate stasis mode despite the biological matter introduced.

  • 01:10 - Arrival.
  • Engineers reach converter; exhaust chamber was clogged by a dwarf-shaped pieace of obsidian; all other systems remain intact.

  • 01:12 - Retrival of Petrified Body.
  • Petrified body removed from exhaust chamber, TC-4 resumes operation at 54% capacity.

  • 01:30 - Life Signs Detected.
  • Remains of operative were recovered. Rockspeaking spell revealed subject to be alive and in great distress. TC-4 returns to 72% capacity.

  • 02:01 - Incident Over.
  • interrogation confirmed the individual not being affiliated with any known party. Chief engineer announces all clear.

    Conclusion

  • Likely an act of espionage targeting the converter's technology.
  • Spy’s petrification and subsequent system overload caused minimal damage to TC-4; operates at full capacity.
  • Petrified operative locked in a dark cave (IC 211).
  • A full investigation into potential accomplices is ongoing.
  • Recommendations
    • Reinforced security around critical installations.
    • A review of converter design for improved safety protocols.
    • Disciplinary action against on-call security.
