Rushlan Character in Theras | World Anvil

Rushlan

Rushlan, the god of reinvention, embodies a fascinating paradox. Once notorious for his excessive pride, he is undergoing a remarkable transformation. His focus is shifting from self-importance to promoting responsible actions and good deeds.   This newfound dedication extends beyond his own domain of music. While he continues to inspire bards across Theras, Rushlan now actively encourages all artists to embrace change and push boundaries. This is a stark contrast to his previous rigid stance, where artistic expression was seen as fixed and unchanging.

Tenets of Faith

  • Transformation is Lifeblood: Art that remains stagnant stagnates the soul. Embrace change, for in continuous reinvention lies artistic renewal and growth.
  • While art transcends mere influence, its power to inspire free thought and challenge tyranny is a worthy cause.
  • Rushlan welcomes all forms of artistic expression. From the child's first brushstroke to the master's honed skill, every creative spark finds favor.
  • While honed craft deserves admiration, so too does raw talent. Nurture the natural wellspring of creativity within us all.

Personal history

Rushlan was once the patron of the arts in the old Menedynn Empire. It is said that right before Ervenius could have gotten grasp of magic, Rushlan tried to help him, dying in the process. Erveniusians say that actually Rushlan was in the way and Ervenius had him slain.
