Arc 1: Episodes #001-#025

General Summary

Episode #001

A small group of adventurers, consisting Jarahk Ironhide, Malchus Grimnas, Thoril Songsteal, Trias Draverson and Duncan Joybottom, were going from town to town in western Theria, doing small jobs for those that needed them done. Their first big quest was given to them by an elderly geographer, Parl Cranewing. Parl wanted the group to chart a keep near Winterhaven.

While on their way to the keep, the group was ambushed by a group of Kobolds. The attacking force was quickly vanquished, but upon further inspection of the bodies, it was discovered that one of the Kobolds had an armband being the symbol of Orcus. The group keeps the armband and continues to Winterhaven. On entering the town, the group soon learns that the town is troubled; the mayor’s daughter had been kidnapped! The group goes to the mayor, Lord Padraig, who quickly hires the group to investigate where his daughter, Talia, went and sent them in the direction of some caves outside of town. On the way to the caves, the group discovers another ambush of Kobolds and swiftly eliminates the enemies. Finally, after a long day of tracking, the group comes upon the lair of the Kobolds. There, before the group engages the kobolds standing guard outside, Thoril manages to befriend one of the drakes, which then fights alongside him. After defeating the guards, the group enters the bunker to find Talia Padraig trapped in a cage at the mercy of a goblin named Irontooth, the leader of the band of kobolds. After slaying all enemies, the group rescues Talia, who reveals that she was to be used in a ritual to summon Orcus and that all of this was being orchestrated by a blood-mage named Kalorel.

After fighting their way through the swamp, the group plus Brie finds the witch’s hut. The witch takes the group in, recognizing Thoril’s condition immediately. She informs the group that Thoril could be cured, but a sacrifice of an innocent’s blood would be required, implying that Brie would be the one sacrificed. After much discussion, the group, led by Malchus, decides that they would live with Thoril’s vampirism, that to sacrifice Brie would be too high a price.

The group is introduced into the world of Theria starting near the city of Brightport, a large trade destination set in the middle of a bunch of other towns. Brightport is a city that makes it’s living off the back of travelers; it is centrally located between a few bigger cities so it is the perfect destination for trade and commerce. However there are only two roads to get in and out of Brightport and these roads are currently littered with bandits. The group has been commissioned to go and get rid of these bandits and as payment keep any goods that had been stolen that aren't ruined.

The group, through questioning people, has found out that the leader of these bandits is named Blackteeth, so named for his immaculate dental hygiene. We jump forward to the group and they have tracked the bandit settlement in the forest, where they see a treasure trove of goods trunks and chest, bags and pouches. With five thugs guarding it.

The group goes over their options, whether they should go in ‘guns-a-blazin’ or try out ghost sound with a ‘thug-fart’. They decide on having Trixy stealth into the camp and distract them which does not go so well. Combat ensues and Blackteeth and his gang are dispatched with little fanfare.

Among the newcomers are Briahna and her father Martin who are welcomed by Lord Padraig and the party.

During the confusion, several people witness Drakonis exchanging bags with a man near an alley and while being questions about it, manages to explain away any doubts or concerns they may have.
