No Good Deed

General Summary

18th of Faraure, late afternoon
The party considers the empty box and the note they found. Reactions are mixed as they set up camp for the night. 20th of Fara'ure

After having a good day and a half of travel, the wagon is halted at the sight of a giant mammoth charging in their general direction, being chased by small figures in the distance. As the beast closes the gap toward the party, it slows and is eventually calmed enough for them to grab his guide ropes and help him back to his Gnomish handlers. The ladies introduce themselves as Phyllis and Ventra, and their large furry friend Biggun. Eliwrath asks, and is granted permission to ride the mammoth which she does with glee. Eventually, the ride comes to an end and through conversation, all agree to meet up once they are all in Brightport so that the group can help safely guide Big'Un through the city and to the docks.

22nd of Fara'ure, near sunset

The party spots smoke rising on the horizon. Avalan keenly spots a group of gnolls burning people on stakes and urges everyone to action. As the battle is joined, it becomes obvious there are already casualties and everyone fights hard to keep more from burning. In the end, two more innocents are burned at the stake and two are spared. Marrek is nearly killed several times but saved each time by Ephany's timely healing.
