The Glittering Garvey's wagon! (SC'20)
Written by Steve Tremblay
Decades ago, a thespian of much fame named Leeroy Garvey traveled from city to city, performing plays, monologues, spoken word and singing and he was the talk of whatever town he was in.
Mr. Garvey was celebrated across the continent for a 10-15 years until his lifestyle started to take a toll on his work.
Drinking, women and excess caused a decline in his performances and as such, the attendance, money and bookings.
For the last decade Leeroy has been wallowing in self-pity and trying to reclaim his legacy. While he used to travel in luxury caravans he now travels alone in a run down wagon with a simple banner which reads in gold lettering "The Glittering Garvey!"
Within the last year, due to a stroke of luck where a group of adventurers stumbled across Leeroy and his wagon, his luck has been turning around. One of the party members recalled the tapestry and having seen a performance years before. The Glittering Garvey's legacy had survived after all.
(These events played out on the Dungeons and Randomness podcast in Arc 2, Episodes 19, 23 and 27)
Garvey talked the adventurers into helping him perform his newest play, a tale recounting the events that avoided a potential war which was so well received in the city of Winterhaven that Leeroy has been working on a follow up and his star is on the rise again.
He has taken the hit show "Of Two Worlds" on a small tour, led by his wagon now flying his banner above it to great acclaim.
When the convoy led by 'Glimmering Garvey' reappeared in Winterhaven, cheers went up in the streets and soon the world shall be entertained by his next play.
