Rockhome Lizard

The rockhome lizard is a gentle omnivore which survives mostly through scavenging in the taverns beneath Theros. They are perceptive in the dark, and can run very quickly and for great distances without tiring, which allows them to run away from most threats. They are hearty creatures, resistant to many poisons and diseases. They are very social, and live in herds, which makes them perfect for domestication. Dwarves of Canebras frequently use rockhome lizards for transportation. They are not quite bulky enough to carry a person on their back, but they are proficient in towing carts.   Rockhome lizards have intelligence equal to that of a dog. They are known for their desire to please their masters, their gentle nature and their extreme loyalty. These qualities make them beloved pets in dwarven society. Dwarves often give their children a rockhome lizard to teach them about responsibility. Unfortunately, those above the surface are not able to really enjoy this plucky pet, because they can't be in the sun. After spending so many generations underground, direct sunlight damages their delicate skin, and can dry them out to the point of death.
