002 • On the Road Again
General Summary
Starting with some action, Æcktor dueled with Traxidor in the stadium. You had your tail handed to you by the older yet surprisingly lethal foe, and, for the sake of your dignity, that's about all we need to say about that.
On the other side of the Kolophon, Farouk ibn Mansoor, Milo Tetrimennos, and Mycena left the closing Library of Kruphix with only the first stanza of the code on Varyas's mask translated:
Hid from eyes of mortals and gods/Lies wither in Orestes’s rot.
You left the rubbing of the code with Dimos in hopes that he could decipher more of it while you went to find Khea.
Farouk takes you to his acquaintance in the record-keeping department, Kastor, who is eating dinner with his wife, Elektra. Hospitable to a fault, he stops what he's doing to find the address of Khea so that you may continue your investigations.
Later, Khea warmly welcomed you into her simple, research-filled dwelling and addresses you by name, as though she knows you. An oracle, she explains that she saw you would be coming and is willing to answer any questions you may have. After Milo writes the code into one of her books, she studies it and confirms that it appears to be addressed to her and that your deciphered stanza is correct (even though you already told her it was, Milo). As for the rest of the jumble, Khea has no answers. It is an encoded message to begin with but is then missing a great deal of letters. However, based on the first stanza of the writing plus recent geological events, she has a hunch that the Tomb of Orestes may be significant in learning more. Ananke has heard of a general area that this place may be, but Khea slips Farouk a map she made just in case and asks him to bring anything interesting from the tomb area. Together, you carefully find your way to your respective dwellings for the night.
The next morning, yall head out to follow Khea's hunch and are jumped by a loan footpad but handle him handily and take a quick rest afterwards.
We pick up the scene as you finish the hour-long rest. What do?
