009 • Big Hungry Man
General Summary
After defeating the chimera, the party questioned the kid, Sinon, who wanted to join your Crazy Powerful Sextet or become as power as you all are. Turns out, he was trying to prove himself a man by slaying the lion that terrorized his hamlet. He got more than he bargained for.
On the next day of travel, a cyclops was loudly, angrily, and desperately spearfishing when you came upon him. With no attempt at a discussion, you ambushed him. Honestly, I do not blame you one bit because Cyclops are notoriously evil as Aektor is aware.
The fish the now-dead cyclops had his eye on was remarkable. Vasso addressed it in Sylvan, and he explained his cursed predicament. See, Eluno, the fish, had been cursed by Erebos for uncovering hidden passage into the Underworld. If the party were to return Eluno to The Siren Sea he would gladly show them the way. Milo grabbed the large waterskin off the cyclops to transport Eluno, though uncomfortable, back to Akros for the three remaining hours of their trek.
Once in town, Aektor intends to head to the temple of Iroas but Farouk suggests something less all the way in the center of the city. He knows of a temple nearby. Mapenntan, Anvilwrought armorer and cleric of Purphoros, kindly agrees to a couple afterhours restorations for Farouk and 300gp.
Milo sells his traveling armory and buys a hefty black gem called a Jet. He splits the rest of the loot with the party and crafts a special necklace for Ananke at The Bronze Shield where Mycena is entertaining the patrons.
Ananke is ambushed at midnight by the same vengeful spirit seeing as she still has the Hellfire Whip. She and Aecktor make decent work of her and after smoothing things over with Mardy Rae go back to sleep.
