Azareth

A sentient weapon constructed by the Purity of the Stars.
The Azareth Weappon is a highly powerful railgun-like gun with a fully sentient AI core. This AI constantly scans for threats while its user wields it. This was built to be used by the leader of the PotS to protect them. It did save the leaders life multiple times as several assassination attempts were made against the leader. These were found by the weapon, and the assassin dispatched by the leader who then wielded the weapon.
However, the weapon itself decides wether or not a certain wielder is 'worthy' enough to use it; the weapon takes great pride in its work. As such, to become leader of PotS, Azareth must allow them. This does mean, though, that the weapon and wielder often makes friends and can trust the other with their life.
Azareth is powered by an extremely miniaturised antimatter annihilation core, so great care is often taken not to damage it. This antimatter core powers a several kilovolt superconducting railgun which fires a 4 kg projectile at mach 20. It is thus extremely powerful, enough so to penetrate some tanks.
The weapon also actively cleans the rails to make itself more reliable. Although the weapon does not like this, it can be dropped in mud and taken out. About 2 seconds later, it will be usable.Of course, the weapon was designed with absolutely no sense of guilt for taking others lives.
