HF - Micars War

War between the very early Hyperion Federation and Micars Empire, from a time when the latter was not a member of the HF.
The HF - Micars war was started by the Micars Empire on offense. They were highly xenophobic and wanted to destroy all other aliens before they could threaten the Empire. They also partly invaded for the resources and technology. Of course, they did not declare war to get immediately overwhelmed. At the time, the Empire was about as powerful as the entire HF combined. As such, the conflict was very damaging for both sides.
Although the Empire initially had the upper hand and managed to invade a number of HF worlds, the HF closely studied Micars tactics. Using their technological edge, they managed to intercept some Micars communications and predict fleet movements a number of times. Using this knowledge, and the defenders advantage, they managed to build a highly mobile army to intercept any fleet sent their way.

In the meantime, the Empire captured many HF people on the worlds they captured, and took them away from their worlds. The empire mass imprisoned trillions and killed about half they captured. Many of the prisoners were enslaved or even studied by Micars xenobiologists. Some experiments proved to be fatal. The Empire (and its people) did not care though, due to the extremely xenophobic nature of the Empire culture. Many uprisings did occur, resulting in some concentration camps being destroyed.

The HF eventually managed to turn the tide. At this point, the Empire was getting close to the Leonogo Major System, the home of the Drimax United Systems. This happened when 3 Empire supercarriers were destroyed in an intense space battle. Fighters from HF carriers destroyed 2, while the only Tachyon Cannon in the battlegroup destroyed the last. Although 1 HF supercarrier was also lost, this had a severe impact on the attrition of the war and after this event the HF became stronger in this area. The HF launched counterattacks and took the area, leaving the rest to be flanked.
The HF managed to expand back to their normal borders, but the death toll was the highest price of the war. They did acquire a small drath population from this though. The 2 sides agreed to a peace treaty, and the rest, they say, is history.
