Sentry Grenade

A type of grenade used sometimes by the Hyperion Federation military.
The Sentry Grenade doesnt explode, unlike most grenades. Instead, it unfolds into a turret that begins shooting at any nearby enemies. It is armed with a very small pistol-like weapon, but it is quite large for a grenade making it somewhat difficult to carry and throw. Although its armament is quite weak, these grenades can decimate large sections of armies used in mass. They can be countered by means of electronic warfare and, of course, can themselves be shot and destroyed. These are often used to surprise attacking enemies from angles they arent expecting and from cover. These have presented commanders with interesting options, particularly when in a defensive position (though the Sentry Grenades could beused offensively, such as sticking extra armament to their own tanks).
After being thrown, they would 'stick' to objects using large, Hardlight 'hooks' that it would project into the material it hit, allowing it to stick. This would injure most creatures if it stuck them directly. It was operated by a complex algorithm that had an IFF system and detected targets using powerful thermal imaging cameras. They were very sensitive but were designed to remain operational even in extremely hot conditions, making it hard to entirely eliminate through ewar means.
