Shockworm

A form of symbiotant organism that was engineered by the Purity of the Stars.
A shockworm is a large entity taking up a semirandon area of the host's body. The worm feeds off the blood of the host and requires a strange diet consisting of superconducting materials to grow and survive. This is usually done by sprinkling powdered superconductor over the food.
However, it can store a significant electric charge with large, biologically formed capacitor plates. The host gains the ability to absorb electricity into these capacitors by attaching 2 cables that form on the body (typically on their hands) to the electricity source. The host can also discharge this, at any desired voltage (remember they only have a limited charge). This way, they can store electricity and become a battery to use electronic equipment off.
Furthermore, the worm can also create electric and magnetic fields, allowing the user to also become a magnet. This operation requires it to syphon energy from the host.
Although the Hyperion Federation bans genetic engineering beyond an extent (no modification of sentient organisms), the POTS doesnt care. These worms initially existed in much of the POTS population. They eventually ended up in the population of the federation as they reproduced. As Suon biology is far different from that of other species, there is a different species of similar shockworms for suons.
Shockworms reproduce by asexually spreading spores around the host. These spores grow into eggs if allowed to survive long enough, and eventually hatch into larvae. Shockworm larvae needs to be ingested by another potential host. They will then dig from the stomach and end up in a random spot within the body that is not within an organ.
