A lichen found in forests of Cobber Cedar, it is the only known decomposer of cobberwood. It is very sensitive to bright light and will wither and die if exposed. It is also rather flammable, which is why it thrives in the highly fire-resistant cobber tree forests.
It also goes by the name ironeater lichen. Besides use as a decomposer of cobberwood or as an emergency fuel source, rygcrym has little economic value.

Growth Rate & Stages

The more that cobber cedar is exposed to dark and damp conditions, the faster and more prolific that it grows and consumes the wood. However, like most lichens, this is still a slow process naturally.

found primarily in cobber cedar forests, but could be found wherever cobberwood is stored in dark, damp conditions.
