The fiends took the other war as an opportunity to take over.

The deities sent their angels to protect the mortals from the fiendish threat, but it only brought more destruction and devastation. However, this war stopped the Magical one, as all of mortal kind joined together to defeat the new threat. A group of heroes came together to find a way to stop the fiends. They went to the lower planes in search of the famed King of the Fiends to force him to call back his troops. However, they found out that the King was no longer the one in charge and the fiends were in their own war with one another. They found the King in his demiplane away from everything and talked him into stopping the fiends on the prime plane. Unfortunately, all of this magic weekend the barrier between the prime plane and the elemental ones.
