The red curse is spread upon being bit with the fangs of another being with the red curse

Symptoms

Constant headaches, their pulse disappearing, and gaining an exteme reaction to garlic begin the symptoms, and then excruciating pain as the hosts body changes to the adaptions, growing fangs, getting red pupils instead of black, and then increased muscular

Treatment

There has been no treatment ever discovered. wooden stakes through the heart, sun magic enchanted weapons, and bronze weapons have proven to be effective for putting down vampires

Prognosis

As the curse continues, the need for blood continues. Any who do not meet the blood requirements become feral and enter a state that would be counted as non-sentient

Hosts & Carriers

Any sentient non-elemental species may be hosts for the curse

Prevention

Flame rune enchanted armor and strong neck armor have proven to be effective in protecting from the spread.

Epidemiology

Often one vampire will appear in the city, and if they have time they will convert some apprentices into vampires like them, who will then spread out and continue the cycle

Cultural Reception

Most civilizations see hosts of the curse badly, often purging them as soon as they find out. The red curse is very feared, and stopped as soon as they can.
