Since the First Dawn 20,000 years ago, Thrae has been a world splintered by fire, water, and shadow. It is said that the ancients of Thrae were given mighty elemental gifts by the makers, and that the first men used these gifts to build the suns and moon, and all the mountains, forests, plains, deserts, and oceans of the earth. The most gifted of men were known as the Dragons, demi-gods who ruled the world from their mountain capitol of Terios. As the millennia passed, the Dragons lead mankind to war against a series of three Pakuti – apocalyptic events that threatened to destroy the cosmos. Humanity first fought off the Arachnids from the underworld, then the Kaiju from the seas, and finally, their own friends-turned-enemies, the fire-breathing Saurians. This third disaster, now known as the Dragon War, sent mankind back to the dark ages. Now, the Pakuti are remembered only in myths, and the bloodlines of the Dragons run weak. The strength of mankind is scattered to the wind, and the gifts of the elements are nearly lost. But, the world is changing. Far to the west, a strange prophetess has arrived, claiming to be from another world and bearing news from a new god – Malux, the God of Light. This girl is endowed with mysterious powers bears an alien sword with the might to rival the relics of the first men. She claims that the world must repent of its idolatry and unite under the banner of Malux, the one true God, if it ever hopes to stand against the coming day of darkness. For, as even the ancient prophecies of the Dragons have foretold, a fourth Pakuti is coming. This time, the prophetess says, the Dragons' cannot hope to stand against darkness alone. The Flame and Sea must put aside their differences and yield to the Light. All peoples must prepare the earth for battle. Will the dragons and the people of Thrae bow the knee to this new God before it's too late? Could they manage to unite Thrae apart from his help? Or will the coming shadow pervade and consume all things?
