Thrae

At the dawn of existence, there were no worlds, nor stars, nor even empty space. All was united, such that infinite forms, matter, and energy were fused upon a single point. But where there was union, the doom of its opposite existed within it and so division split the universe into the chaos we know as life. From this beginning came an era when time had not yet been forged, came the first celestial bodies. But not all the forms that exploded from the beginning basked in the light of stars. Amid the endless cold voids gathered dark powers that lorded over the lifeless matter hidden beyond sight -- there did it bide its time and grow strong.   The sons and daughters of the light and dark came to duel as the opposites drew battle lines that stretched throughout the cosmos. How long these wars lasted is impossible to say for in the madness before Niordendae, the God of Time rose to power and made the bonds of time there was no way to tell. Afterwards though, all who confronted him became slave to the ticking clock of destiny, age, and the exacting nature of cause and effect which he and he alone plucked.    His greatest supporters were themselves unimaginably strong, loving Niordendae's mythic charm. But his presence grew ever more sinsiter as the many worlds that came to be all fell under his sway. Those who resisted his divine will were bound within magical orbs, or even banished to alternate universes, made to suffer the unraveling of their plots in endless looped realities. And so none dared defy him. Yet one day, his most trusted general rose to challenge his leadership in a subtle way: he created a lifeform that answered only to him, and which was beyond the prison walls of Niordendae's timelines. Furious, Niordendae banished his general to a small planet that was trapped between a blackhole and a collapsed star. This blighted world was ravaged by times became known as Thrae. This is the saga of those born upon this world.
