Gnomish

Gnomish is the common term for the language spoken by Gnomes.  It is an ancient tongue, with a precise and complicated structure that allows information to be conveyed in a very specific and concise manner.
Gnomish is spoken only by Gnomes (as a first language) and by the most dedicated scholastics as it is not an easy language to master.  It has an alphabet of 44 letters and uses 11 types of punctuation to ensure the proper conveyance of information when written.

Geographical Distribution

Used by Gnomes everywhere as a first language, it is only used by non-Gnomes in the most dedicated scholastic environments due to its inherent difficulties.

An extensive vocabulary exists for the language, but very few dictionaries have been completed.
