Drinkers and Donors
While not necessarily sexual in nature, the act of drinking another's blood is intimate in nature, especially when taken from the body rather than the bottle. In either case, drinking the blood of another forms a bond between the drinker and donor.
This bond is infinitely stronger when the blood is drawn from the body through a bite rather than drunk from a bottle, and even then is stronger the fresher the blood is. While the bond may begin slowly over time and repeated feedings it will grow stronger with both drinker and donor gaining greater insight into the presence and feelings of the other.
Given the Vampires of Cedar Grove and their tenant farmers have been growing this bond over decades, in most cases the established vampires know where their farmers are and what they are thinking as though they are an old married couple, while with the younger members of the community, they may know each other like good and trusted friends. For those who choose to donate directly, this bond may be even stronger still, and with those who have chosen to tithe in other ways, it may not exist at all.
