The Well

When the lawless town of Alsadriv has to deal with a disruptive people in their city, many feel it's a waste to just kill these individuals. Instead why not have them work in a place where they are not a problem anymore. The solution came when the town well dried up...
When the well was discovered empty one morning, people was promptly sent down to dig deeper in search for more water. Just a couple of meters down the excevators hit something hard, smoth and dark. This was the metallic outer wall of some kind of anchient architecture.
After many days and nights of trying, they finally broke through the strange metal and discovered what they where hoping for. Water. But there where more down there than just water. Strange shadows was seen moving under the still and dark surface. Old and strange items was sometimes found in the buckets coming up from the depths. After a couple of years of this the water levels of the now called "First Chamber" had lowered to such a degree that it was clear this was a room with other connected corridors. The water was now to far away for the well to reach and thus the first people was sent down to help send the water up to the surface. At first this was voluntary paid work. but after the 5th person just dissapered the amount of interested workers sank drastically.
And so, here we are. the well is now a prison and working camp tasked with supplying water to Alsadriv.

Geography

This place was once some kind of storage facility for the past civilization. Mazelike corridors connect large open rooms. The bulding material is some kind of dark smooth metal. It is a lot colder down here than on the desert surface. Sound travel far, wierdly and distorted.
Many parts of the complex are filled with water.

Fauna & Flora

The Well is very dark. Thus, the wildlife use other ways of locating themselfes. So there are many slithering and crawling beasts who roam these dark halls, feeding on the prisoners sent down here to supply the town with water. Many kinds of moss, mold and mushrooms like the damp and dark nature of The Well. There is littel other vegitation. At some of the larger bodies of water you can find seaweed and even fish.

Natural Resources

Water is the main natural resource down here. But rarely. When a new area dries up, old artefacts can still be found and traded for food or freedom (if the artifact is worth enough)
