FIST

FIST was formed when Geth Graymoon, High Knight of Thunderia, escaped from imprisonment and a death sentence at the hands of the royal family – he dared to question the methods and intentions of Prince Marcus and King Harold. When he carried out his escape he left with the clothing on his back, 2 dozen guards loyal to him personally and a burning desire for change in the land that he loved that he had seen become so corrupted by the actions of its king. Geth has retained some contacts within the Royal Military who are secret double agents for FIST.

The use of Violence

The majority of FIST have no objection to using violence against those serving the Royal Family to achieve their goals:

Have you any idea how much tyrants fear the people they oppress? All of them realize that, one day, amongst their many victims, there is sure to be one who rises against them and strikes back! This land can only be reborn once it has been baptized in the blood of the tyrants. Just as Talos’ lighting burns the trees, to be extinguished by his rains, we must burn to the ground the structures and institutions that these tyrants have built, extinguishing the embers with their own blood, so that we may plant the seeds of our revolution.

-Geth Greymoon in his speech to FIST on why they must declare war. There exist factions within FIST however who believe that by doing so, they are no better than the very tyrants they seek to overcome:

Geth would have you believe that violence is a necessity. Necessity is the plea for every infringement of freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves. Tyranny, it must be remembered, does not arrive all at once -- it arrives in installments, and it must be fought off in installment. When you fight a war against a tyrant, who do you kill? You kill the victims of the tyrant. Should we create stability through our own tyranny, we must remember that stability born of tyranny is a false stability.

-Unattributed document FIST has been fighting now for many years, with minimal successes. A new crop of recruits have been formed into organized strike squads under the leadership of Patricia; these Special Attack and Logistics Squads have been sent to the mainland to strike at the heart of Royal control, turning cities and regions to support FIST.

Public Agenda

FIST issued a statement of intent – 7 tenants that they wish to become the foundation of the people and creatures of Thunderia:

1) One should strive to act with compassion and empathy towards all creatures in accordance with reason. 2) The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions. 3) One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone. 4) The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo your own. 5) Beliefs should conform to our best understanding of the world. We should take care never to distort facts to fit our beliefs 6) All are fallible. If we make a mistake, we should do our best to rectify it and resolve any harm that may have been caused. 7) Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word
