Hallendorf
The second largest township in the Lowlands region, the town is a hub for many of the farms in the region, as well as having one of the best wineries in the whole land. The people of the town are close knit, with most of the wealthiest coming from families closely aligned to the merchant’s guild.
The short, rotund human mayor of the city of Hallendorf, Ulric has followed in the steps of his father and grandfather, being “elected” mayor by the Landgrave. He is fiercely loyal to the crown as the source of all of his power and lifestyle, and he is not above using the guards to get his own way. Recently has been seen spending large amounts of time at the Wyvern Inn.
The mayor’s steward is a tall, thin human, with some distinctively elven features. Exceedingly polite and scholarly, he makes decisions bound in reason and logic rather than emotion. The people of Hallendorf know that to get anything done, you must follow ceremony with mayor, but Henrich will do the hard work to make things happen.
Captain Hartmann grew up in Hallendorf and has a loyalty to the town, and his men, which is often unmatched. Equally at home training his men, drinking at the Wyvern or the Green way, and heading the local judiciary, he is respected by all in town. Often found on patrol, he is distinctive in his shining plate armor.
Olaf and Greta are an old married dwarven couple, fond of a joke and a drink. Olaf makes the famous Imp Ale, while Greta’s roasted suckling pig is at least partially to blame for the mayors waistline. Given the nature of their Inn they are friendly with all the ‘Powerful’ people of the town, as well as many of those that visit for business.
Victor is a very quiet and standoffish Half-Elf; a retired wizard. Those who know him say he will hold a grudge, and runs the store simply because “someone has to”.
The short widow Sally Hearthstone runs the markets, and dispute having lost her husband to a terrible accident years ago has never lost her chatty and upbeat nature. Almost never seen without a cheery smile on her face, nothing happens in her markets that she doesn’t know about.
A Retired Halfling Adventurer, Peter took an arrow to the knee once and never truly recovered. He runs the local adventure supply store so that he can at least talk to people who share his passion for adventure, but with true adventurers now in shorter supply he fills his days reading his old journals and dusting the various supplies in his store.
Birch is an elderly man, precise in everything he does. Some say that he counts the grains of sugar that go into his tea each morning. Takes his time getting to the point when spoken to, but when his point is made it will be exactly right as best that he knows.
Venentina is extremely loud, extremely friendly, and therefore extremely annoying to those who just want to buy a new outfit. Her heart appears to be in the right place.
The town Blacksmith, responsible for supplying the guards with their weapons and armor, and the populace with their various metal works. Wants nothing more than his son Bryce to take over the family business. Aligned with FIST and SALSA after they rescued Bryce from his attempt at becoming an adventurer, and subsequently being cursed with lycanthropy.
Young and impetuous, Bryce dreamed of a life of adventure. Unfortunately this life came at him fast and Bryce now spends his days working and learning from his father. Aligned with FIST after they cured his lycanthropy and owes them a great debt. Does not approach his father’s skills at the forge yet, but shows great promise.
The Millers are a kindly couple, who would do anything for their daughter Maerwyn . They have set up the back of their home (near the mill) as a paddock for her horse, which she rides almost every day. Both Joseph and Irene are stalwarts of the town, heavily involved in the local politics, but are not known to engage in idle gossip.
A long time ally of FIST, The middle-aged man is the owner of the Bad Dog Tavern. While Tofdir claims to be a retired captain of a cargo ship that sailed all over the Seas, there are rumors that the charming fellow made his gold through less legal means as a smuggler -- and if the Bad Dog is a hub for shady dealings (which Tofdir denies), no doubt the host would make coin from that as well.
Brie is the towns healer, heading up the small group of monks of Pelor within her priory. She is a true neutral, who will never take anyone’s side in an argument, but will happily stitch them both up if they come to blows.
A cheery pair of Halflings, they run the Greenway Inn – which they claim was there before Hallendorf and that there isn’t a straight wall in the place. Their cherry nature and fine food encourages weary travelers to their door frequently.
