Tigerborn

The original inhabitants of the land, they are now only populous in the Wilds. They are uncommon in the regions, but in major cities they are often kept (both employed ad enslaved) as Bodyguards and “Problem Fixers” – their mix of stealth and strength makes them powerful agents of chaos, intimidation and revenge, Free Tigerfolk view all of those kept in this manner as lesser – referring to them as “Kanini” (roughly translates to ‘Canine’ in common – equating them with subservient dogs)

Civilization and Culture

History

For most of the known world, the Tigerfolk have a reputation. Dumb muscle. Our people are Enforcers for gangsters, slaves for rich Men, mere guard dogs for Elves, and hunting tools for Orcs. Filth. We are not "Tigerfolk". No, Man has given us this name. Our true name in our native tongue is "Nya'mau" (nee-yah-mow) which roughly translates into "Born of fire and night" or Tigerborn.
We, at the village of Shakkahn, are fierce, strong, fast and intelligent. We live as free as our ancestors did, roaming the jungle as we please. Feasting on hunted flesh as we grow hungry, or even indulging in the occasional nap in the sun that streams through the trees. We refuse to serve or be enslaved.
Driven by what comes after, we have constructed our society to be completely self sufficient. Money holds no weight here. Mother Earth (G'rrlna - Garr-nah) provides for us, as it did for our ancestors, and we humbly accept what she offers, be it good, or otherwise.
We are Proud. We are Strong. Fight us, and feel our Claws. Help us, and know our warmth.
