The Fates
The Fates weave the destinies of all gods and mortals in their magical loom, but whether they manipulate fate or merely record it is unknown. They are depicted as three sisters: Clotho, "the spinner", who presides over the moment people are born, is depicted holding a distaff in her hand; Lachesis, "the allotter", who spins the events and actions of people's lives; and Atropos, "the unturnable", who cuts the thread of life with a pair of shears. It's thought to be their role to ensure that every being, mortal and divine, lives out their destiny as it was assigned to them by the laws of the universe.
The coven is rumored to have existed since the creation of Thylea itself, and some people claim that they have been visited by the fates in dreams or visions, who appear with promises of a bountiful future. It's not uncommon for people to worship The Fates in some aspect, or, at the very least, dedicate offerings to them in hopes of future prosperity. Dedicated followers of The Fates strive to spread the lessons of destiny throughout Thylea, and many take on the role of pseudo-oracles, claiming that they can read a person's destiny for a price; although, unbeknownst to them, these practitioners are almost always disapproved by The Fates and are subsequently condemned by them. The people of Thylea believe that The Fates preside over all oaths that are sworn throughout the land, whether made by mortals or divine beings. If one is to break a sworn oath, it is the Fates who respond by dispatching The Furies that pass judgment onto the oathbreaker directly related to the injustice of the offense.
