Life Binding

A life binding is the joining of two Elves as life mates.

For a traditional life binding, a Study must deem that the binding of the two Elves to be of Fate. If the binding is approved, the Elves wishing to be bound may proceed to be bound at a time of their choosing. Each Elf must each have a witness present as they exchange vows written on parchment. The vows must be read to oneself silently. After the vows have been read, both Elves burn the written vows in a symbol of a promise to adhere to the vows until death. These vows are never spoken to an outside party and it is considered incredibly rude to ask of them.
