Ormennê Catháná

The ormennê catháná (lit. "ice fox") is a canid-like non-sentient species that lives on the surface of The Argent Moon.

Anatomy

This species is notable for being completely made of ice, and yet is verified by zoologists to be alive. It has no digestive tract, no nervous system, no respiratory system, or anything else that would indicate signs of life. And yet, this fox scampers happily through the snowy surface of the Argent Moon. To this day, it remains a scientific and biological mystery.

Genetics and Reproduction

The ormennê catháná is formed from the ice of the Argent Moon; those who have seen the birth of the fox describe it as though the creature bursts forth from the glaciers. Once formed, the ormennê catháná wanders the surface of the moon until it decides to meld back into the ice from which it came.

Curiously, one of these foxes were to be taken away from the Argent Moon, the fox would melt. The liquid from this melt, should it be returned to the moon, will not reform back into the fox it once was.
