The Cleaning Lady
"We did everything possible to fix Gabrielle's wing. Ultimately, it was still a gruesome sight, but almost functional. Then, she saw Gabrielle out in the open again."Every toy alive is aware to some degree that their life and unaliveness is tied to the will of the all-mighties that roam their world, and sometimes the ones that only visit ocassionally.
That's why, unfortunately, the toys of the World of Plaza had to learn to accept the terrible losses they could suffer at any time from The Cleaning Lady as a fact of life. The Cleaning Lady was a Wandering All-Mighty that would appear in Tierras Mágicas and elsewhere in Plaza from time to time, with the sole purpose of un-making and destroying any toy activity she would find in her path, leaving the land barren, the adventures interrupted, the geyser snakes reset and, sometimes, a broken toy in her wake. Her calculated unmaking was clearly targeted, but not necessarily just at toys: Many citizens would claim that Ciudad Comercial Grande would be impressively devoid of any gliding eels after her incursions.
Casualties
Toys caught in the way of the Cleaning Lady were forcibly taken out of the way and into the mountains which, in most cases, would cause just a headache and maybe some bruises, but the least fortunate among them would sometimes slip, be caught in a sweep, or be too delicate to sustain rough handling. That was the case of Gabrielle the dragon, who was found one day unconscious, having fallen into the void under their post, with one of their beautiful wings snapped in half. The traumatic event was slowly overcome with the help of other toys that nursed them back to health, only for them to be caught in the Cleaning Lady's path again months later.
With a detached wing stuck back less than seamlessly, Gabrielle was the most prominent victim of this natural disaster, as the effect on their wellbeing was immense. After the second incident, the proud guardian dragon retreated into safe corners of Tierras Mágicas, up until its fall, when they climbed high past the skies and entered a long indefinite torpor as they waited for, perhaps, a day in the future that would harbour restoration and safety.
Nae.... you keep making me cry about your toys... I believe in the return of Gabrielle.
