Valistar College of Ignus Magicks

Public Agenda

To teach any and all who are touched by Ignus.

History

A group of humans touched by Ignus wanted to share their knowlege of their craft. At first, they started teaching out of their homes, which unfortunately did not meet with much success. Novice Ignus users often set the wooden structures on fire. The teachers implored Arch Ignacia to help them find a solution so they could keep teaching. She relocated all of them to an uninhabited area of The Great Namilli Plains, and hired a guild of dwarven builders to construct a grand school made of stone. She also asked for Arch Ananda's help, as a city filled with Ignus users needs access to a lot of water. Ananda willed an underwater spring to fill the irrigation channels and auqueducts of the city.
As the number college attendies grew, the school expanded outward, with the major rule that any buildings must be made of stone.

Territories

The college helped establish the Firestone Reach, and became it's capital.

Agriculture & Industry

Very little agriculture occurs around the college grounds. Those in charge of keeping the inhabitants fed set up extensive trade routes with other cities in Firestone Reach, and a portion of their crops always goes to the college.

Infrastructure

Most of the original building material came from the marble in the Obex Mountains to the north. As the city expanded, other types of stone was utilized to help define certain districts - for example, green marble was used strictly in any market districts and nowhere else in the city is there any extensive use of green marble or any other greenish stone.
The numerous aqueducts and extensive irrigation system is fed by the underground spring, keeping the city clean.
