It deals 1d8 slashing and 1d8 necrotic on a hit, and it is considered magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the slashing damage and necrotic damage both increase by 1d8 for each slot level above 4th.
