Modified Initiative Score: MIS
The main goal with the MIS was to fix one of the biggest downsides to the Iniative Score option which is that your players and monsters with low dexterity will always find themselves going last in combat. This can make combat less exciting for them or sometimes incentivize them to choose different characters and playstyles all together or for the DM to only pick higher dexterity monsters. The solution is rather simple, yet elegant and allows your players as well as the bad guys to have more meaningful choices when entering combat. This allows for better strategy and more dynamic battles. This option removes the need to roll for every encounter, yet gives flexibility to both sides for more important conflicts.
Each creature has an initiative score, which is a passive Dexterity check: 10 + Dexterity modifier
As an alternative: At the beginning of combat PC's and creatures may choose to swap initiative scores with members of their team for the remainder of that combat. If you are surprised, you must use your passive initiative score.
