Personal history

(St.) Aelpheon of Hedria was born during the late Iron Age, before the Nether Wars. His parents were tanners and leathersmiths. According to his saints-lyf, Aelpheon lived selfishly and wastefully in his youth, often starting fights and causing grief to his family. One day, a terrible famine struck Hedria, leaving the people with hardly anything to eat. In desperation Aelpheon turned to religion, making a vow to the gods: he would devote himself to a godly life if they sent rain to his country. A much-needed rainstorm fell on Hedria shortly thereafter and a bountiful harvest was had that year, ending the famine. In keeping with his promise, Aelpheon devoted himself to religious life, feeling called to Herobrine as his patron deity.
Unfortunately, Aelpheon's conversion coincided with the Nether Wars, a bad time for ardent Herobrine worshippers. He maintained the nature god's innocence throughout the wars and afterward, often getting scorn from his audiences. He was often chased out of towns or accused of being a subversive.
It came to a head about a decade after the close of the Nether Wars. An angry mob accosted Aelpheon in Settler's Slope, a mountain town a few kilometres north of the Fallen Kingdom. Believing that he was promoting demon worship, the people stoned him to death. Reportedly, Aelpheon cried out towards the Aether to not hold them accountable for his death, as they were only doing what they thought was right.
